What genres of music do you typically play?
You probably already have a theme or ambiance in mind for your special day, and you want the music to match. My style of piano playing covers a wide range of genres from classical, jazz standards, pop tunes, rock, and R&B. Let me know what vibe you are looking to create, and I’ll put together a customized set to suit your theme.

Do you take breaks?
If I am playing a multi-hour performance, I require 10 minute breaks at the top of each hour in order to rest my fingers and prepare for the next set. I can also provide music during my breaks so that there are no quiet moments.

Do you only play solo, or do you also perform with other musicians?
I play solo piano and offer live music in a violin and piano duo called Strings & Keys, in a steel pan and piano duo, and with a singer. I also perform with a live painter who paints in tandem with my playing, called Paint & Keys. This option can be offered in addition to any of the above live music combos that I have to offer. If you’d like to know more about the live painter option, please contact me and we can discuss this further!

Can I select my songs for the wedding ceremony?
Yes, of course! I have a very wide selection of music repertoire for you to peruse and I would love to help you choose your songs!
5
How many songs do I need to select for my wedding ceremony and when will they be played?
In most wedding ceremonies, there are four moments when music will be played: The Processional, Bridal Entrance, Signing of Marriage License, and the Recessional. You will need to select four songs (one for each of these times) and I will be happy to assist you if you’re looking for inspiration. In some sacred wedding ceremonies, there are additional moments where music can be performed. We can certainly discuss this if this is your occasion!
6
What kind of wedding ceremonies do you perform?
I have performed at many different types of religious and non-religious wedding ceremonies. I’ve performed in ceremonies that have been celebrated in churches, banquet halls, homes, backyards, and for occasions like during Chinese tea ceremonies. I am also LGBTQ+ friendly! Love is love, and I’m here for it. Many wedding ceremony traditions are designed for opposite-sex couples. However, if you’re looking to put a twist on the traditional wedding processional, let’s talk! I can make sure the music is matched perfectly to how you want your wedding ceremony to go.
7
Do I need to have my ceremony song selections before I book you?
No, you do not need to know your song selections at the moment you decide to book me. I will only need to know your song selections 45 days before your special day and I would love to help you choose the song selections for every moment of your ceremony.

What do I need at my venue so that you can play at my wedding?
If your venue has a piano, it must be playable, tuned, and placed in the space that I will be performing in advance. There must also be a bench/chair of an appropriate height to sit at the piano.
Otherwise, I can provide a digital piano to perform at your wedding, all I would need is access to an outlet and shelter if the wedding is being performed outdoors.

How can I secure you to play for my wedding date?
In order to secure the date, I would need to receive both a signed contract and a non-refundable 40% deposit. The remaining balance 60% deposit is due 7 days prior to the wedding date. A date is considered booked only when both the signed contract and non-refundable deposit have been received.
Payment can be made via e-transfer to info@jessicalamusic.com

What is your cancellation policy?
If in the event my services are no longer needed, the remaining 60% balance would not be payable and the initial 40% non-refundable deposit would not be refunded.
